Forever Tuesday Morning

7.20 ferry Sophie to school.
7.30 blood test.
8.30 counselling session with cancer counsellor, Rebecca L.
9.45 back to school.
11.10 brief coffee chat with Rose and Mal in the Art Dept.
12.30 lunchtime - 3 music teachers and a swathe of kids invading the block to practise for the showcase etc.
1.10 Bathe in the River analysis continues - the yr 11 boys are introduced to Aunty Fanny (antiphony) - call and response (which most can relate to due to Haka/Waiata competition and Samoan song styles).
2.10 10PM (practical class) flow in and the lesson turns around very quickly - virtually all have their theory books (though there are 2 girls who appear to be in the class more as ornaments rather than as useful citizens!).
3.10 Super Twelve (9 of them anyway) drift in - I do my best not to stress out at the lackadaisical attitude displayed by some. We are still not "gelling" as a group, and 2 of the 3 absences are not really acceptable...
4.45 traipse home listening to Fratellis' first album (VERY catchy - similar vein to Arctic Monkeys).
5.30 drop into the warm safe nest that is home - all of us by the fire - Samson has usurped my quilt!!
Black Adder, pizzas from the pastor, failed attempt to do tutee reports (due to internet connection problems - again!), blogout!
And just now, Kevin from A's D-Team (youth group thingie) arrives with cards they have made for A.
Great!

  1. I commented on that particular cat behaviour when I was there this avo. I've emailed you the pic I mentioned in your absence Gerald.

  2. Hi Gerald and Lois, and kids. Just thought you would like to know that our gorgeous daughter, Emily (17), freshly home from a Primal healing meeting, is believing in miracles for Gerald and Alexander, and I'm with her in that. Seeing that picture of you on the beach, Gerald, how could anyone doubt? Full of life! Sounds like you're a bunch of troupers and doing amazingly well. I reckon total healing isn't too much to ask...

  3. Ian, are you referring to our Samson-the-usurper?? he is very funny at present - almost cuddly (cold weather!)...very cute the way he lets Sophie carry him round kind of over her shoulder...
Last night L and I were lying down facing away from the fire...he walked right between us and lay down with his head up to the fireplace...like it was his own!

  4. Jill, keep praying for this! Please! I need you prayer warriors going hard out on my behalf at present! And a prayer warrior is simply someone with faith. One of the really neat things is having chats with kids and staff about the whole scenario...some very special conversations arise out of the whole mess/adventure. Go for it, Emily! I have a new great-niece called Emily...

  6. Just returned with him from the vet's...an FIV booster, and 2 new bites needing antibiotics. And before the scheduled time he vanished into thin air! He's now off sulking outside...
