Return From Whitianga

No days without sunshine.
Sun blazing, sky blue.
Days of lazy awakenings.
Leisured strolls, peaceful rests.
Children playing in harmony.
Streets devoid of traffic.
Elusive second hand bookshops.
Nina's Cafe. thumbs up!
Alexander talking till late.
Cathedral Cove without stress.

  2. Check out Ian's nzherald reference. I guess 2009 has been the year of the fall down boys...
In a nutshell, the article refers to a 14 year old boy who fell 30m down a cliff at Pauanui, around the time we went to the Coromandel. Thanks for the ref, Ian!

  3. And there was a story in the Herald this morning of a 12 year old boy who received a head injury after falling off the Ruahine Ranges (well, part of them at least). While his 10 year old brother looked on, his father managed to injure himself trying to retrieve him. In the process they also lost a bag and GPS, and had to build a shelter to spend the night out there. After making a cellphone call the next day they were shipped out by helicopter to Palmerston North hospital.

    Praise God for helicopters.

  5. Hm, I've just realised I "neglected" to put a return address on your own helicopter shipment.

  6. Perhaps Ian you could launch a helicopter rescue/clifftop fall kind of a blog?

  7. It's more fun hijacking your blog posts. I mean, I think I've already written too many pages about my own experiences. Mind you, I still want to measure the height of that cliff. When I see Norm S next month I'll no doubt have a chat with him about some of the things he's got up to on rescues.
