Manic Street Preachers, 2002.
I really like this album.
It has my favourite Manics songs from the very earliest releases through to So Why So Sad.
It also has their tremendous cover of Suicide is Painless (the theme song from MASH).
It has to be confessed, this is the more lyrical end of their work - and many of their riffs and vocal melodies have strong lyrical quality (that's lyrical in tems of melodic sweep, as opposed to lyrics).
I recommend the album for Manics fans who may be looking to trim their collection (does that mean you're not a true fan??)...and for novices seeking initiation into the world of aching, hard-hitting, politically left-wing heavy rock accompanied at time by orchestras...
10/10.
