Nice hospital, the Ascot.
Access a little odd, though.
CT scan over, no results - meeting with oncologist is Thu 4th March, 3.30pm.
Last year my birthday presents were a BBQ (terrific) and a private colonoscopy (less so, AND more blimmin' expensive!).
This year what kind of birthday present will I receive from the oncologist?
A free 6 month course of toxic chemicals?
Guaranteed numbness, nausea and neurosis?
Hopefully a chocolate mud cake from somewhere (hint, hint!)...
Don't get me wrong.
At this stage I would much rather have a few extra months of relatively comfortable living if possible.
Lois's MRI scan was also without discussion of results.
We wait and watch.
A lovely lunch with Maria at Ironique.
And a cosy, friendly music group BBQ at the Oldings, with a spa!
And here at last is the weekend...

be still and know that I am God
ReplyDelete"don't forget," said Mr Baumgarten, trying to be cheerful, "even if the extremities go numb, the heart is furthest in the centre."
ReplyDeleteEvery day we day we get to spend with you is a blessing....so many DVD's still to watch!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend...
So many questions for you both (all), and not many answers ... so here's one of my fave quotes as well, from Leonardo Boff: 'God does not give an answer to all our questions, but, in Jesus, God enters into the heart of the questions' (that's the bit in the centre, where it ain't numb ...). You continue to be in our love & prayers through these uncertain times, D. (BTW, the programme doesn't like my UK spelling apparently ... centre, programme ... little red lines all over the place!)
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean that my name will be mud if a certain cake does not turn up???
ReplyDeleteRichard, when did this God complex of yours begin (:))?
ReplyDeleteLike the Baumgarten quote. Original or borrowed?
Andrew - yes, at least the dvd-watching time is not quite down to a finite number.
I wonder what I will watch if/when that time comes?
Deirdre - the programme doesn't like my speling eether - the feling is muttuall.
Heather (I assume it's Heather), you sure know how to take a hint!
No obligation, of course.......
